Meet The Niche Movement team:

Kevin O'Connell, Founder

Kevin.OConnell.Digital.Storyteller.Speaker.Washington.DC..png

Officially, I'm an entrepreneur, author, and digital storyteller with a Student Affairs background (#SAchat shoutout). But really, I have an obsession with anything golf and creating the perfect Spotify playlist. Also, I'm a foodie and I never turn down mac n' cheese. Apart from helping young people find the work they love and helping businesses who are passionate about what they do, tell their story, you can find me on the weekends on adventures around DC with my wife Courtney or taking my dog Luke to the dog park #blacklabsofinstagram.

Mandi Stewart - Director of Community Growth & Lead Strategist

mandistewart

A few of my favorite things: snail mail, coffee, Bruce Springsteen, and early mornings. I believe that social media can bring people together (case in point: I discovered The Niche Movement on Twitter!) and do my best thinking on long runs. I love almond butter that comes in individual packets and reading the posts from the contributing editors for TNM blog! I don't go anywhere without my passion planner and I always have at least 5 to-do lists going at once #hustle.

I am a lover of everything outdoors including camping, hiking, fishing, and exploring new places. I bring my camera with me everywhere I go and document just about everything. I love animals and am currently mom to my pet rat, Daisy. I studied Filmmaking and Photography at Ringling College of Art & Design in Florida and am now pursuing a degree in Graphic Design at American University here in D.C.

Daniel Bonner - Videographer

Washington.DC.Digital.Videographer.Intern.Documentary.Canon.jpg

Hello! I am an Apple fanatic; watching their product announcement keynotes with my friends is one of my favorite things #AppleFanboy. When I'm not doing that, I enjoy a good mountain biking trail or a game of ultimate frisbee followed by seeing what other foods go well with Sriracha.

All that fun stuff aside, my passion is really finding out the best way to capture and convey stories and their emotions through film.

My name is Poll and I love filmmaking and storytelling. I believe that every individual has an incredible story to tell and my job is to find the story and use the tools to be deliver emotions and a message that lives with each story. Oh yea, and I never pass up a happy hour, love meeting new people, and always up for talking about the latest camera gear. Cheers!

Former Niche Movement Staff & Interns

Emilie Buckley - Former Director of Community & Lead Strategist

Director of Community Growth is my title but what I aim to do is keep the momentum of TNM alive by bringing together passionate people. I have a love of FroYo and have perfected my order - chocolate froyo, ton of strawberries, chocolate jimmies (yes, I said jimmies not sprinkles), and shredded coconut #heaven. Cooking in my crock pot is my new thing lately as well as navigating each corner of DC #adultlife. I'll color code and organize any closet to perfection and can't stay out of Target.

Connect with me @emiliebuck - Emilie now works as an Admissions Coordinator at The General Assembly in Washington, DC.

Rachel Geffner - Former Copywriter & Social Media Intern

I'm a sophomore at the George Washington University majoring in journalism and mass communication. I'm originally from New Jersey and love going into New York City whenever I get the chance. I am an avocado toast fanatic and perpetually on a search for the ultimate avocado toast! I also love exercising, healthy eating, and drawing in my spare time.

Robyn Park - Former Graphic Designer & Social Media Intern

Hailing from the sunny state of Arizona, I’m a junior at the George Washington University studying marketing and journalism. When I’m not running from class to class or heading to my internship you’ll probably find me exploring cool cafes (A Baked Joint’s my current favorite), watching Game of Thrones, or brainstorming ideas for my blog, The Toppy Top. In 10 years, I hope to be running my own social enterprise while traveling the globe. But for now, I’m excited to be designing content and aiding the Niche Movement’s mission to help people like me find work they love doing! Robyn now is a junior at GWU and interns at 1776 in Washington, DC.
